Excellence Day at Kpapékou Catholic School:
The top students at the Kpapékou Catholic Primary School, located in a village in the Ouragahio sub-prefecture, were celebrated this Saturday during an excellence day. This event has become a regular occurrence for the school administration.
The innovation this year was that the ceremony had a patron, Mrs. Rachelle Dakoury, a daughter and executive of the village. She presented gifts to the children who achieved the highest grades at the end of the year.
This allows them to move up to the next grade level at the start of the next school year. Certificates of honor, school supplies, and many other gifts were distributed to the approximately 30 award recipients, including 5 students from grades 1 through 5.
The icing on the cake was the special gesture made towards the Year 6 students preparing for secondary school. They received khaki and blue-white fabrics from the godmother to make their school uniforms.
She also urged candidates for the entrance exams to 6th grade and the CEPE (Primary School Leaving Certificate) to aim for a 100% score. Parents, visibly delighted by this socially conscious gesture, shared their joy with the press and expressed their gratitude to the donor, who led a large delegation including several prominent figures.
“Today, I am proud. Proud to be the godmother of my little brothers, little sisters and my children. I am proud of you, dear champions. Yes, you who are here. You who have worked, who have persevered. I am your big sister, I am your godmother, and I tell you from the bottom of my heart to work hard. Dream big,” said Rachelle Dakoury.
"The future of our village is in your hands. What you build today in your notebooks, you will build tomorrow for Kpapekou," she urged her godchildren to take their studies seriously.
"Dear children, this day is for you. Remember it," she concluded her address to the students of the Catholic school. Then she began to express her gratitude.
"Thank you to my guides, my mentors, my brothers and sisters who supported me financially and spiritually to make this celebration a success," the godmother said gratefully to certain personalities including the Chairman of the Board of AIGF, Gbakayoro Abel Djohoré, the venerable Senator of Béré, Master Bamba Mamadou, and the Mayor of Divo, Ali Touré.
To this list she added Bruce Monobolou, Gnagno Silvio, the Wallys group, and the village leaders. "Well done, children, for your achievement," the godmother concluded her speech. It should be noted that this event was held under the patronage of the village chief of Kpapékou, Kadji Gnagno Adolphe.
