Moussa Konaté (Member of Parliament for Gagnoa sub-prefecture): "Why I joined the RHDP"
Elected as an independent member of parliament in the last legislative elections in the sub-prefecture of Gagnoa, Moussa Konaté has decided to join the RHDP, the ruling party. This was marked by a major ceremony held in Laurent Gbagbo Square in Gagnoa on Saturday, July 18, 2028.
On this occasion, the entire political elite of the RHDP at both the national and local levels, as well as activists and supporters of the presidential party, were present. Before an audience gathered from all corners of the Gagnoa department, MP Moussa Konaté explained his reasons for joining the RHDP. According to him, this membership is an act of faith, the fruit of long and careful consideration. "I analyzed the situation, and one thing became clear to me. Under President Ouattara's leadership, the country is experiencing dynamic development. Côte d'Ivoire is moving forward; it is building itself up. This reality is visible everywhere in the country. It is this results-oriented policy that motivated my joining. I made a choice of the heart," declared the new Houphouëtist. Turning to the people of his constituency, he promised not to disappoint them. "You elected me as an independent candidate. I will reassure you." “The action I am taking today is not a break with our commitment to the development of the sub-prefecture. It is together that we are joining the RHDP,” added the elected official, who was accompanied by a thousand supporters who agreed to follow him on the path he has chosen. “I pledge before God and the nation to serve with devotion the ideals of my new political party, which is none other than the RHDP,” promised Moussa Konaté before an audience of RHDP dignitaries and officials. Among them were Mariatou Koné and Ibrahim Cissé Bacongo, respectively the godmother and patron of the ceremony. Minister Mariatou Koné offered words of congratulations to her godson. “By joining the RHDP, Moussa Konaté has made the right choice, the choice of development. It is a strong signal sent to Côte d'Ivoire, saying that we must make the choice that can improve the living conditions of the people,” the godmother stated. She offered wise advice before wishing the new member an excellent political career. "I will always be by your side because [the party] has placed its trust in me," she added. Following this, the executive secretary of the RHDP (Rally of Houphouëtists for Democracy and Peace) spoke. He entrusted the new member to the local leaders of the ruling party, instructing them to support him in his new endeavor. Cissé Bacongo took the opportunity to appeal to those still hesitating to join the ranks of the Houphouëtists. He encouraged them to join the RHDP because there is still room for everyone. It should be noted that at this ceremony, three localities in the sub-prefecture of Gagnoa each received an ambulance: Gnatroa, Gnagbodougnoa, and Dougroupalégnoa.
