Dignago: The Minister of Health provides ambulances to Dignago, Bagassehoa and Zohoa
Minister Dogo Belmonde's advocacy, a native of Guibéroua, has finally paid off. She secured three ambulances from the Ivorian government, one for each of the villages of Dignago, Bagassehoa, and Zohoa. This Friday, Pierre Dimba, Minister of Health, Public Hygiene, and Universal Health Coverage, traveled to Dignago to deliver the good news to the beneficiary communities.
According to the Minister of Health, this donation of ambulances is part of a government program to bring healthcare closer to the population. In addition to the ambulances, this same program includes the construction of a new integrated health center in Dignago because the existing one is showing signs of wear and tear. Minister Dimba stated that it will include a dispensary, a maternity ward, a laboratory, a covered area, and a perimeter fence. This will eliminate the need for patients in Dignago to travel elsewhere for treatment. The same project will be carried out in both Galébré and Dignago, with all the necessary public health facilities.
“The total investment we will make in these three sub-prefectures amounts to 3 billion francs. You should no longer be afraid to go to the hospital. The role of the State is to protect you,” declared the head of health in Côte d'Ivoire. “What interests us above all is that these buildings be places of care. When you are sick, you must go to the hospital before looking for witchcraft or anything else,” he advised, before strongly urging his audience against self-medication.
He was quick to point out that it was thanks to President Ouattara that the technical facilities of the health centers in these three sub-prefectures would improve. But before that, he reminded the people, there was the leadership of their daughter, the Minister of National Cohesion, Solidarity, and the Fight Against Poverty.
“What she is doing is what President Ouattara asks of us. That is to say, to be at the service of our people. Minister Belmonde made the plea. Health is the greatest wealth one can receive because when you are healthy, you can look for money anywhere. But you only need to be sick to know the value of being healthy,” said Pierre Dimba.
He arrived with a significant quantity of medication to supply the targeted health centers. He also urged the population to enroll in the universal health coverage program to benefit from this social insurance. He announced that health workers would soon be deployed to the Gagnoa department to bolster medical staff and ensure efficient patient care . It should be noted that Ministers Pierre Dimba and Dogo Belmonde laid the foundation stone for the new Dignago health center.
