Gagnoa: Young Dan residents pay tribute to Mayor Yssouf Diabaté
The "Dan Youth for Yssouf Diabaté" association paid tribute to its mentor, Member of Parliament and Mayor Yssouf Diabaté, for his benevolent gaze upon the Yacouba community. In gratitude, the youth of the mountainous west decided to celebrate the elected official's actions on their behalf with a day of tribute held in his honor last Saturday.
From the outset, the president of this association, Feh Jonas, reviewed the initiatives that the young Dan people had benefited from, through Mayor Yssouf Diabaté. Jonas noted that in various areas, his community had fully enjoyed the generosity of the city's mayor.
“People without papers, including birth certificates, nationality certificates, and identity cards, obtained these documents thanks to you. Members of the association who were unemployed, you gave them jobs. You brought smiles to women who had difficulty disposing of household waste. There is also the donation of 50 chairs to the association,” listed President Jonas before continuing.
"You have allowed the president of this association and some of his colleagues to practice here in Gagnoa after their training," he added.
He then emphasized that the association receives support from the mayor every time, during moments of joy or sadness.
“Your actions in support of our association are countless. Your kindness is boundless, which is why we promote you wherever we go. This ceremony is therefore in your honor, Mr. Mayor. You have done so much for us, and we are with you in spirit. We offer you our support,” Feh Jonas said to the mayor.
He compared the relationship between Yssouf Diabaté and the Dan people to that between a tree and its fuel. Currently out of the country, the mayor of Gagnoa was represented by one of his staff members. Gaga Any thanked the mayor's protégés for the ceremony, which provided an opportunity to reconnect and celebrate together. He also commended Jonas and his friends for their gratitude towards their benefactor.
"You were there for the mayor, and in return he remains by your side. He has done a lot for you, certainly, but much remains to be done. Upon his return, we will submit your grievances to him," promised Mr. Gaga.
Reassuring his audience that, knowing the mayor, he would provide a satisfactory response to the various grievances raised by the young Dan people, the ceremony was enhanced by a gala match. FC Gouékan defeated Rezac de Biankouma 1-0. It should be noted that the association 'Jeunesse Dan pour Yssouf Diabaté' (Dan Youth for Yssouf Diabaté) was founded in August 2023. Its objective is to support the actions of the deputy-mayor.
