The second phase of the family meal project has been launched
Initiated by the Ministry of National Cohesion, Solidarity and the Fight Against Poverty, the second phase of the family meals project was launched on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in the meeting room of the Gagnoa prefecture.
This operation reflects the government's ongoing commitment to strengthening social protection for the most vulnerable populations and to effectively combating poverty.
This project aims to provide food and non-food assistance to households facing socio-economic difficulties.
For this second phase in the Goh region, nearly 60 households have been identified in accordance with the eligibility criteria of the single social register (RSU).
These households will receive a monthly food and hygiene kit worth 50,250 FCFA and monetary support of 7,000 FCFA for a period of six months.
Yao Grâce Amani, regional director of solidarity, explained the eligibility criteria for this project, which involves surveying poor households where families only have one meal a day.
That is why she thanked Minister Dogo Belmonde, "always with her hand on her heart, who pleaded with the government so that these people would not die of hunger," she said.
This time, the project is accompanied by training so that the beneficiaries can take charge of themselves through income-generating activities, and understand that with the little that the State does, they can regain their dignity.
The regional director of solidarity also appealed to the population to courteously welcome the agents of the department in charge of the census of vulnerable households.
She expressed her wish for perfect collaboration between her staff and community leaders to facilitate the various phases of household censuses in the remote areas of the Gagnoa department.
Beyond material assistance, this project constitutes a message of hope, solidarity and social cohesion.
It testifies to the government's commitment to leaving no citizen behind in development.
The second secretary general of the Gagnoa prefecture, Assamoi Bella Bernard, invited the beneficiaries to make good use of these food kits so that they contribute to the well-being of their families.
