The mayor of the municipality of Gagnoa announces the start of work on 15 km of asphalt in October.
The mayor of the municipality of Gagnoa, Yssouf Diabaté, announced on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, the start of the asphalt work next October, during the fourth ordinary session of the municipal council held in the wedding hall.
Yssouf Diabaté thanked the government for this far-reaching offer which delights the entire population of the city of the cheesemaker.
According to the mayor of Gagnoa, the work will begin in the second half of October. He specified that 10 km of asphalt will be used for the section of dual carriageway that will start at the Sinfra-Bayota-Ouragahio corridor and end at the village of Guessihio.
This road will lead through the roundabout near the Gagnoa Regional Hospital. The other five kilometers of asphalt will rehabilitate deteriorated roads in certain neighborhoods of the city, much to the satisfaction of the residents.
“I thank the President of the Republic. My thanks go to Minister Amédée Kouakou, as well as to the executives of Gagnoa, Minister Dogo Belmonde, Governor Louis-André Dacoury Tabley for the work they are doing in silence,” he rejoiced.
He also indicated that the city council will strive to invest one kilometer of asphalt in the city each year.
During this session, sixteen projects in progress were listed for the rehabilitation of the central town hall building, the construction of classrooms, the third district of the police station in the Cissé Kamourou district, the civil registry, the extension of the electrical network in the Zapata extension, Cissé Kamourou and Soleil districts, the construction of a three-classroom nursery with an office and a block of five latrines in the Vatican district and many other projects.
