Honorable Konaté offers a motorcycle to the council of village chiefs
The council of village chiefs of the department of Gagnoa received this Monday the donation from the Honorable Moussa Konaté, deputy of the sub-prefecture of Gagnoa.
The donation includes a motorcycle, a helmet, and the associated administrative documents. The elected official explained that this gift will allow the secretary general of the council of chiefs to travel through the villages and hamlets to deliver mail and other messages to the people of this administrative district.
“I came to greet my fathers, the chiefs, to introduce myself to them after my election as deputy for the sub-prefecture. I took the opportunity to gather their concerns and try to find solutions,” said the deputy elected under the independent banner.
Among the concerns of the crowned heads is the search for a means of mobility. To which the deputy responded favorably on the spot. "I'll start with a motorcycle.
"I will find the means to equip the council of chiefs according to my means. The state of the roads is such that a motorcycle is needed to quickly travel from one village to another as part of the missions to be carried out by the envoy of the chiefs," argued the honorable.
In addition to donating the motorcycle, he pledged to pay the headquarters' bills. For example, rent, electricity, and running water.
“This touched us and we want to thank him. We couldn’t have asked for better. He is only a member of parliament. He doesn’t have a budget. His gesture is therefore to be commended,” reacted Boga Sivori, the president of the council of village chiefs of the Gagnoa department.
He adds that this is the very first time an elected official has visited them at their headquarters to inquire about their working conditions. Unlike other elected officials who don't even know the location of the Guardians of Tradition's headquarters.
“Konaté is one of the few elected officials who visits us. Other elected officials don’t know our headquarters. When they need us, they call us at their homes. When Konaté needed us, he came to us.”
We thank him immensely.
“May God grant that his mission be a success,” Sivori wished before telling the visitor that the doors of the chiefs were wide open to him.
"The MP promised to make himself available to us. We too are making ourselves available to him," said Boga Sivori.
It should be noted that the council of village chiefs of the Gagnoa department has existed since 2004 and has 165 members.
