Diégonéfla: The NGO ''Je Reverdis Mon Village'' wants to reforest the Gban villages.
In this year 2026, the 32 Gban villages will be reforested.
This is the commitment made by Dogad Dogoui, president of the said structure.
On Friday, he took up his pilgrim's staff to travel through the villages of Gouéda, Bronda and Tiégba.
His aim was to raise awareness among his parents about the importance of reforestation so that they would support the project, pending the practical phase of the reforestation scheduled for June 20th. In each of these villages, the head of the AIP office in Gagnoa announced that 500 tree seedlings would be planted as part of this socially impactful initiative.
Everywhere he went, the message of the president of the NGO "Je Revertis Mon Village" (I Re-green My Village) remained consistent. He emphasized the urgent need to change behavior in the face of climate change, which threatens all of humanity. Diégonéfla, he said, is no exception.
"Let's mobilize now, so that in four years, we can be happy to see our villages green again," the professional journalist called out to the people who came out to listen to his message.
"This is a new challenge for us who want to re-green the 32 Gban villages," he said, while counting on the active forces of the different villages to rise to this challenge.
Depending on the wishes of the villages to reforest, the trees will be planted around schools, on main roads or in other strategic locations in the village.
An operation which, in the long run, the initiator hopes will be a solution to the "tree baldness" observed here and there in the villages.
“How can we understand that some localities in a forested area are devoid of trees?” asked the head of the NGO. He was accompanied by Lieutenant Adigbé Comlan of the Oumé Forestry Department.
The reforestation specialist urged the villagers to support the NGO's work. Amany Grâce, representing the patron of the ceremony, Minister Belmonde Dogo, remarked that trees are of vital importance.
As for Etienne Arnaud, president of a rice cooperative, he offered his services to rice farmers to increase their production in the lowlands by providing improved seeds that yield 3.5 tons of paddy per hectare.
It should be noted that after June 20th, the NGO is inviting the populations of Gouéda, Bronda and Tiégba to join them next November for the reforestation of 1500 tree seedlings. That is 500 seedlings in each locality.
