MP Konaté offers oxen to Muslims for Tabaski
The Muslim community of Gagnoa celebrated this Wednesday, Eid El Kébir, commemorating the Tabaski festival.
The day before, the Honorable Moussa Konaté made an act of solidarity towards his fellow believers by offering them oxen so that the celebration could take place in good conditions.
This is how the deputy for the Gagnoa sub-prefecture constituency paid a visit to the president of COSIM, at the wooden mosque.
He presented an ox and an envelope of money to the followers of Allah to help them prepare for the following day's festivities. From there, the elected official headed to the home of Adama Ballo, the leader of the northern communities.
This initiative encompasses the Savanes, Denguélé, and Woroba regions. Here too, the elected official repeated the same gesture, much to the delight of those who received it. In each of the locations visited, Konaté received prayers of blessing, asking Almighty Allah to grant him divine grace and many Tabaski celebrations.
The following day, the nation's representative was at the grand mosque where he prayed alongside men of God.
“I thank the entire Muslim community of Gagnoa for their constant prayers for peace in the country. Thanks to you, the country remains strong and safe from various threats. Happy Tabaski to all,” said Moussa Konaté.
He also recommended that religious leaders persevere in prayer so that social cohesion may be further consolidated in the city of the cheesemaker.
Assamoi Bernard, the prefectural secretary general, echoed this sentiment. The administrative authority commended the commitment of religious leaders to preserving the peaceful atmosphere in the city.
"I urge you to cultivate tolerance. Let us protect young people from drugs, let religious diversity be a lever for economic growth, and let the prayers of this day bring peace to our nation," the Secretary-General expressed his most fervent wishes.
Earlier, Imam Kamaté Abdramane prayed for lasting peace in Ivory Coast. In his sermon, he urged the faithful to reject acts and behaviors that do not honor the Muslim community.
It should be noted that the president of the regional council, Djédjé Bagnon and the mayor Yssouf Diabaté, who were absent, were each represented by a colleague.
They expressed their support for believers in Allah and promised to always accompany them in their various activities.
