Father Jules Assouman Ghandi celebrates 25 years of priesthood
Ordained a priest on April 16, 2001, Father Jules Assouman Ghandi celebrated 25 years of priesthood on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at the Saint Jacques parish in Amoriakro, in the sub-prefecture of Abengourou.
The parish priest of Our Lady of the Rosary, a native of this village, had the support of his parents who came in large numbers, as well as communities of other religious faiths and executives.
25 years of life dedicated to the work of God in his mercy, this is the path traced by Father Jules Assouman Ghandi who never ceased to do so with humility.
The Mass of Thanksgiving for the priestly silver jubilee in his favor took place in a fervent atmosphere with songs and dances dedicated to the Lord.
Father Ernest Doukouré Boga, parish priest of Our Lady of All Grace in Ouragahio, delivered in his homily a message of love and holiness that the people of Israel are called to embrace with humility and sincere faith for their salvation. "My dear Jacques Gandhi, as you know, the priesthood that the Lord has entrusted to you is grace and service for the glory of God and for the salvation of humankind," he stated.
And this important and exciting mission that he has been carrying out for 25 years continues to be accomplished.
His rich academic and pastoral background eloquently demonstrates love, availability, a sense of service and generosity by bringing so much joy, compassion, solidarity and peace to many people to make known the glory of God and bring salvation to the populations to whom he is sent as a priest and pastor in the different parishes of the sub-prefecture of Abengourou.
That is why Father Ernest Boga thanked him for his simplicity, his sharing towards the poor, the needy and the destitute.
The organization each year during the CM2 exams, the meal to support the candidates for the CEPE and at the entrance to sixth grade as well as the teachers in charge of their supervision demonstrates how full of charity his heart is.
Through his works as a Good Samaritan, the presence and closeness of Christ are among the people. "Father Jacques, thank you for your courage, your perseverance, and your resilience in carrying out your ministry," he said.
He wished him well and expressed the wish that the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of priests and of the Church, would accompany him and make his priesthood even more joyful and fruitful. "I feel a sense of gratitude and I thank the Lord who has granted me these 25 years of priesthood."
"What I can say is that God's grace was enough for me," noted Father Jules Assouman Ghandi, son of Amoriakro and first priest of said village, who lets himself be guided by the Lord on the prospects of his mission.
This Sunday marked the celebration of the Marian month and Mother's Day.
This was an opportunity for the parish priest of Our Lady of the Rosary to offer pink flowers to the mothers of the parish.
