Awoulaba competition pre-selection for the Goh region: Ruth Bessou is the new ambassador for Goh.
The wedding hall at Gagnoa town hall had a special atmosphere on Saturday, June 20, 2026, on the occasion of the pre-selection of the Awoulaba competition in the Goh region.
Ruth Bessou, bib number 4 candidate from Ouragahio, aged 27, mother of two and city hall employee, climbed to the top step of the podium.
Alongside her, Zezé Nadia Joëlle and Gbeuli Ella respectively first and second saraman.
The ceremony began with words from Gnizako Océane Nathalie who expressed her gratitude to the sponsor, Chief Gbizié Lambert, chief of the village of Tchedjelet and second vice-president of the chamber of kings and traditional chiefs of Ivory Coast, for the promptness with which he agreed to sponsor this edition.
She will undoubtedly thank the administrative authorities, particularly Yssouf Diabaté, the mayor and member of parliament for Gagnoa, for his financial contribution and wise advice. The sponsor, for his part, said he was honored by the local committee.
He said he was proud of the promotion of African culture. Through this type of competition, the candidates were evaluated by the various parades in boubou, maxi, and traditional attire.
The new approach to selecting candidates, with voting playing a significant role, was decisive. Ruth Bessou, the Goh 2026 representative, declared herself ready to proudly represent the Goh region at the national final on July 25th at the Abidjan Palace of Culture.
His most ardent wish is to win this competition for his region, a major first that will be etched in the minds of the inhabitants.
