Ruth Bessou (Miss Awoulaba of Gagnoa) “My dream has come true”
The Miss Awoulaba competition of Gagnoa gave its verdict this Saturday at the wedding hall of the town hall.
There were 9 of them on the starting line, but at the finish, the jury selected Ruth Bessou.
The candidate from Ouragahio won everyone over with her beauty to take first place.
While Gbeuli Ella and Zézé Nadia came in first and second respectively.
After her election, Ruth expressed her gratitude to the mayor of Ouragahio for his support during the pre-selection.
All of which, according to her, was a determining factor in her election.
“I thank God who has shown me grace. It was not easy. It is the fruit of hard work. My dream has come true,” said Miss Awoulaba.
This title gives her the title of representative of the Gôh region during the final phase of the competition, which will be held on July 25 in Abidjan.
“I assure the people of Gôh that I will rise to the challenge to represent the region worthily in the final. I will go there confident to be the national champion,” promised Ruth, visibly happy with her success.
Before his coronation, the ceremony's sponsor, Lambert Gbizié, took the opportunity to send a message to his goddaughters.
"To you, dear candidates, I would like to say that you are ambassadors of our culture. Regardless of the result, you must remain role models for young people."
I offer you my warmest congratulations because by your presence on this stage, you are already winners.
"Continue to believe in your dreams and uphold the values of respect and discipline," said the village chief of Tchédjelet, who had his closest collaborators by his side.
The crowned head thanked the organizers for associating her image with this celebration of traditional beauty.
"The Awoulaba competition is more than just a beauty contest.
It is a showcase of our African values, our cultural identity and the elegance of women.
"The awoulaba concept highlights the African woman in all her splendor, her personality," said the sponsor.
For him, a Miss Awoulaba must embody values such as humility, wisdom and a sense of responsibility.
As a guardian of tradition, the godfather urged the youth of Gagnoa to preserve their cultural identity.
