Barouhio acquires a new development tool
The village of Barouhio, located in the municipality of Gagnoa, now has a new development tool.
The village authorities and the heads of the major families, after consultation, appointed Otro Opelli Serge as president of the mutual for the economic and social development of Barouhio (MUDESBA).
With the decision made, President Otro and his Vice-President were officially presented to the population on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
Under the village's tent, a large crowd gathered to meet the man to whom the village's future was now entrusted. Dr. Serge Otro, an emergency room physician in France, did not see the distance between his workplace and his village as a hindrance that would prevent him from leading the mutual aid society.
“I don’t live here but I have many ties to the village. I’m here in the village every four months.”
"I am in constant contact with the chief," said the president of the mutual insurance company to reassure everyone.
He has already listed on his agenda the problems he intends to tackle in order to pull his village out of its lethargy.
"The actions of a mutual society are to implement local development. That is to say, everything that contributes to improving the living conditions of the population."
"The village has classic needs: water supply problems, sanitation, gathering the village children, the health center, support for women's empowerment, etc.," he listed.
"The second challenge is the youth, who are the driving force. We must guide them to put them to work because only work can get them out of their situation."
“We are listening to Barouhio, we are involved in the local development of Barouhio, but we also want to bring Barouhio into the spotlight. Barouhio needs to regain its rightful place,” added Dr. Otro.
Thus, he embarks on a mission for the village. But his objective can only be achieved if love and harmony reign among the girls of the village.
This is what he urges everyone to do through this appeal. "We are counting on the leadership, the youth, and the women.
"We must remain united and together. All the actions of the children of Barouhio must contribute to the development of the village," insisted the health specialist.
He promises to reach out to the diaspora so that they too can take ownership of the socio-economic development of Barouhio.
For these holidays, the mutual insurance company plans to organize recreational activities to liven up the village.
