In Gagnoa, a university is opening its doors to students. It is the Albert and Bernadette Gahié International University (UIABG).
The building was inaugurated on Friday by Bernard Assamoi, Secretary General of the Gagnoa Prefecture .
"By officially opening this university, we are opening the doors to a promising future for our youth and for our nation," the administrative authority said.
He was accompanied by Solange Gahié, founder of the said university, and a host of other prominent figures.
"The opening of this university is a testament to our collective commitment to providing quality education, promoting academic excellence as desired by the government, and preparing competent, responsible citizens who are open to the world," added the representative of the regional prefect, prefect of the department of Gagnoa.
Previously, the chairman of the organizing committee reassured the public that the university is ready to welcome its first students starting next academic year.
“Today, the lecture halls and classrooms are ready. The laboratories are equipped and the teaching teams are mobilized,” said Gnapié Charles.
Then, to rejoice that the UIABG offers young people the opportunity to pursue higher education to international standards while remaining close to their parents. And at a lower cost.
"The children of Gôh and Lôh-Djiboua deserve quality training here at home," said the PCO.
He did not fail to commend the founder, whose initiative increases the capacity for welcoming students in higher education.
“This university exists thanks to the vision of an exceptional woman, Mrs. Solande Gahié. Her vision rests on two inseparable pillars: a pedagogical vision of excellence and inclusivity, and a civic and human vision,” Mr. Gnapié recalled.
Following him, the rector of the UIABG spoke. Professor Bohui Djédjé Hilaire showered praise on the founder, affectionately known as "National Mother," for her numerous social initiatives.
The rector is already aware of the responsibilities he will face in the daily management of this temple of knowledge. "There will be no shortage of difficulties along the way for a fledgling institution like ours," he warned.
He believes that these difficulties should be opportunities for self-reflection in order to correct weaknesses and make the university even more efficient.
The training programs at UIABG are: Legal, administrative and political sciences. Language and communication sciences. Economic and management sciences.
